New features with status and estimated date for implementation Minimize

 DescriptionNotesDate Available
Improved Survey Builder InterfaceThe survey builder is used to create a survey instrument (questions, participant responses, and scoring key). Not only is the user interface easier to use, but the surveys now have the capability of being entered in at the provider level. It is immediately available, but we are looking for a few provider organizations to pilot the new feature of creating a survey unique for their organization (not statewide as is the current rule).
Custom Report BuilderThe custom report builder has the ability to select specific fields, determine criteria and filtering and how to order the outcome produced. The linking between related tables is done automatically and your custom report is saved so that it can be run anytime in the future without repeating the selection criteria. The custom report builder is being piloted in CA. We have learned that more effort is needed to bring the data from several tables together and still have the report make sense. It is anticipated that we can begin applying it to all our state services by March 1, 2007.
GIS Mapping of Service DataGeographic Information System (GIS) is the ability to display data as a visual representation on a map. For instance, you can display a map of your state and display regions where prevention services were performe. The GIS service will have the capabilities to drill down to the smallest geographic unit of location that your state associates with a service (example: zip code, school district, fips code, etc.).Immediately
Subscription ServicesSubscription services uses push technology and data or time sensitive predefined rules. For example, in FL, on the 15th of every month, a performance report is pushed (emailed) to district managers for each provider for which they are responsible. If you would like to utilize this technology in your state, contact your KIT project manager.Immediately
Report ServicesKIT is exploring new report generation capabilities by utilizing report services. Two benefits are immediately obvious. The first is that report details are created dynamically. By clicking the + and – symbols, the user can drill down to various levels of detail or roll up the report to a summary. The level of detail is user controlled and only one report needs to be programmed (using the current static crystal reports, each level of detail had to be a separate report). Also, since the report service is housed on its own server, all reports are using a separate processor to generate the report. This should increase performance. KIT is currently using the report service in both CA and NY. After getting feedback from these two states, all states will have their current reports migrated to the new platform. Most new reports will be created using report services.
